So let’s talk about my week! I haven’t blogged blogged in forever.
I was REALLY sick on Sunday… I think I had the 24-hour flu. I woke up around 3 am… threw up, 5am….threw up… 7am…threw up. I’m sure you see the pattern here. And trust me, it continued! I didn’t even have energy to move. I was dehydrated and seriously felt like I couldn’t even drink on my own LOL. Then I would just throw up the water so it would piss me off and I wouldn’t even try to drink. It was not fun. Good thing it was only 24 hour though… blessing from God because I REALLY can’t miss work, especially with how volatile it is currently.
Skipped camp Monday because I was sick but Tuesday I went… it was the hardest day we’ve had so far. We did:
200 jump rope
20 “burpees” (basically up/downs… but with push ups in between)
40 sit ups
1 lap around the school (about 1/8 mile… plus going up 1 flight of stairs, down one)
SIX TIMES. All of that 6 times…. I know it doesn’t look like that much on paper but try doing it as intense as you can 5 times straight and get back to me! Needless to say… since I was sick Monday I was like… OH MY GOD IM GOING TO VOMIT haha I thought I was going to throw up about 4 times so I didn’t make it all the way through but it was still the hardest thing we’ve ever done.
I honestly don’t know if I felt sick on Tuesday because I was genuinely 100% sick, or if it was 80% genuine-sick and 20% fat-and-out-of-shape sick. I’m guessing #2, but don’t tell Joel (our trainer).
I just got back from camp today (Thursday). It was hard, not as hard as Tuesday though. We did our usually warm up… then we did a 30 minute circuit of:
10 “burpees”
15 steps ups on each leg
20 dips
25 squats
2 laps around the school
So we just did that overrrr and overrrr and overrrr and over again. After that we did tons of sit up circuits, ”flutter kick” circuits, and plank circuits.
I’m writing all of it in here for 2 reasons. #1 so you can have it if you like working out. #2 so that I can do this if I ever can’t afford this in the future (which is more than likely).
The good news is that I’m already seeing results. Well… maybe not SEEING as much as feeling. I’m too chubby right now to tell really big muscle difference other than in my legs and arms a little… but I KNOW there is a lot of muscle building because I can feel it. Once I start losing more weight I think it will be awesome. I just feel better, ya know? I’m not as tired during the day even though I should be exhausted. I feel like I’m eating better and not craving foods that are bad for me. I have all these girl scout cookies and I haven’t had one in like 4 days… I don’t really crave them. Except when I write about them in my blog… like right now :(
So yeah, I just wanted to fill everyone in on what I have been doing. I will maybe start posting out workouts? The main key the Joel says is to do it “tabata” style which is 30 seconds intense, 10 seconds rest…. for a few minutes. Count how many you do the first time and the last time. If you’re doing it 100% the whole time, it should go from like… say 50 the first time… to like 35 the last time. Or 10 the first time and 7 the last time. It’s just supposed to steadily go down. Mine usually stays the same which means I’m not trying as hard as I should in the beginning. WORKING ON IT!
Christina said I’m being lazy because I haven’t blogged in about a week. What has the world come to? OK OK… so I am lazy… I’ll admit it.
This week has been busier than usual. I feel like I haven’t been at my house in 2 weeks! Luckily it’s been hanging out with friends and such. Bree and her boyfriend broke up (thank GOD) so I’m happy about that. Even though it’s a sad thing, it was the right decision for her to make and I’m glad because now I get to spend more time hanging out with her! Hi Bree! I’m sure you’re reading this.
So I found one thing I’m liking about the stimulus package. They are considering adding a large tax credit for first time home buyers, around $15,000! I’m like DO IT DO IT DO IT because that would be amazing. And would make me feel more confident that buying the condo is the right thing to do. This economy sucks for a lot of people but fortunately I haven’t been affected by it very much (*crosses fingers*), and in this instance I would actually benefit from the crisis.
To increase the bill’s focus on problems in the housing market, members of both parties are considering liberalizing and expanding a tax credit for first-time home buyers that was approved last year in other legislation but had little immediate impact.Under the reformulation being discussed, the credit would be doubled, to $15,000, and it would not have to be repaid, as the earlier measure required. LA TIMES
Something like this would make me feel like it’s a sign that my decision is correct, even though I know I’m over-analyzing it. And I don’t know if I really agree with giving that huge of a handout to anyone, especially someone that is BUYING a house instead of being FORECLOSED ON… but I’m not gonna say anything and I’d still take it! WHO WOULDN’T!
OK I’M DONE TALKING ABOUT THE CONDO!! Sorry, I’m obsessed. So work is going fabulous. I got the best news in the entire world yesterday, long story short it just makes my life 100% easier at work. They took away some of the goals that were impossible to obtain and stressing everyone out, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much the atmosphere has changed there! It’s so much more laid back and I actually don’t fear going to work anymore :)
I joined a gym yesterday, finally! I made my decision. It’s only $10 freaking dollars a month! And I can cancel anytime. It had a $40 start up fee, but oh well. That’s equal to 1 month at just about any other gym, so I’m OK with it. I’ll keep you guys updated on that.
Anyways… what’s up with everyone? Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while.

“GET SKINNY” update:
It was raining today so I couldn’t go running… so I went to Planet Fitness to just pay to work out for 1 day and it was freaking $21.50 to work out for a DAY. ONE DAY. I was like, you must have misunderstood… I don’t want a MONTH… just one day. And he was like oh no, for one day that’s the price. I laughed and then left. What a joke! Dublin Rec costs $5 and it’s like 293847928374 times nicer than that place.
Too bad I don’t live in Dublin anymore. Ironic that I am typing this very blog from my parents living room (in Dublin). Oh well.
But the diet has been going well. Today was cool because I woke up at like.. 12… then went back to bed again until 3. Vacation is awesome! I love it. I never get to sleep in this late so I’m making up for about 12 months worth of waking up early. Moral of this paragraph: I got to eat big meals because I didn’t have to split my calories between 3 meals, just 2! I still had some left over for some Hot Tamales at the movie theatre. Not too many though :-P
Jamie and I figured out that we are both training for the same half marathon… at least I think so. All I know about it is that it’s in May. Lindsay told me about it and I agreed without asking many questions. I will feel extremely accomplished if I’m able to run 8 miles and not die of a heart attack afterwards. Right now I can run a mile straight, walk a mile, run a mile, walk a mile. So total of 4 each time I go. Takes me like 50 minutes… so I am REALLY SLOW. I run like a 9-10 minute mile, haha. I might as well just walk. it will get better eventually…(hopefully).
I’m going to have someone take a photo of me at the finish line and I’ll pose really, really dramatic and I’m going to put that as my Facebook profile picture. Or maybe I’ll collapse “from exhaustion” and crawl across the finish line… like people do in those Iron Man competitions. Or better yet, I can bring a fake trophy to the marathon… and after getting 1422nd place I will have someone hand it to me right after I cross the finish line and pretend like I won! YES that’s what I’m going to do! Maybe I can find one of my old swimming participation trophies… we’ll see. This is just phase 1.

Just another obstacle in my way of getting healthy! Let’s add these geese to the list also including Krispy Kreme doughnuts, starbucks, Pepsi, Taco Bell, and chicken quesadillas.
